Great Subbuteo Article

Rory posted this on the ASA forum and I though it was a great and funny description of the "beautifully silly" game.

Garden State Subbuteo in Catalonia

Camp Nou (Home of FC Barcelona...Mes que un club!)

I have decided to continue my blog about my flicking travels in Spain. I am now a member of Palomar Futbol Taula in Sant Andreu, Barcelona. I have been playing for the better part of five months now and I have already seen an improvement in my play. I participated in a Spanish Subbuteo tournament in Barcelona and hope to try out a few more before I head back to the States. More will follow soon... hasta luego!

Andrew Wins the League!

Sorry for the delay all of my loyal followers. I am now living in Barcelona and I have been preoccupied with sangria and futbol.

Andrew pulled ahead at the very end by winning two games (both 1-0 for Andrew) and drawing 0-0. This left the final standings after 15 games at:

Players GP W L D GF P
Andrew 15 5 4 6 10 21
Joe 15 4 5 6 10 18

A well deserved win for the Pennsylvania side of the river. Billy Penn would be so proud. I promise the trophy is on the way Andrew, enjoy a Pat's Steak and some Tasty Kakes for me!

Delaware Valley Subbuteo League
Standings after 12 games

Joe: 4 wins, 3 loses, 5 draws - 17 pts

Andrew: 3 wins, 4 loses, 5 draws- 14 pts

3/21 Matches:

0-0 draw
1-0 andrew wins
0-3 joe wins

The competition is heating up in the battle for I-295 dominance. After feeling each other out in a scoreless draw Andrew struck first in the second game with a beautiful shot to the upper 90. His 1-0 victory brought the standings even headed into the final match of the day. Joe finally got into his game and put on an impressive show of his own. His three goals were the most scored by a player in the young competitions history.
